Topic:

“Advance Your Career in Downturns”

Industry is becoming increasingly competitive for emerging leaders to assert themselves and advance their careers. Whereas previous generations of businesses were marked with increasingly complex and hierarchical structures with significant opportunities for leadership advancement, today’s most successful companies are opting for flatter leadership with fewer “middle management” positions. Additionally, because of improvements in quality of life and life expectancy, today’s workforce represents the first generation of Americans actively competing with their grandparents’ generation for employment opportunities. Career advancement is no longer a de facto reward for long service; it requires an active and conscious effort to achieve. Dr. Wickliff will discuss the methods that emerging leaders can utilize to best position themselves to identify & seize opportunities for career advancements in industry.
